James Hardy Spring Update: Building Momentum in U.S. College Tennis 🎾
With spring in full swing in the U.S., James Hardy has given an update on how his tennis season is unfolding; reflecting on a challenging start, key improvements, and the momentum building as conference play begins.
James writes:
The start of my spring semester has gone well. It started very tough with our coach scheduling very high ranked teams to get us playing against very good opponents to improve our national ranking, and prepare us for our upcoming conference matches.

Myself and the team went down in our first few matches. My singles matches were very challenging and I feel that I was still adapting to this high level of college tennis. Even though I was losing, I was gaining experience in these big matches and they allowed me to evaluate what I needed to work on to improve my game. As a team, being able to compete very well against these top teams was gaining us confidence of what we can achieve this spring season.
After our very tough start, we registered our best win against Lander University and I had won one of my best singles matches to date. We were also able to win our next few matches before conference started last weekend. Another highlight was that our team reached our highest national ranking of 28, which was a massive jump from our previous rank of 40
Our season is still only getting started with many more big conference matches ahead, but our challenging start has helped myself and the team prepare for our tough conference schedule.
We’re looking forward to seeing how he and the team finish out conference play and what’s still to come. Keep pushing, James! We’re right behind you 🇦🇺❤️
