Funky Monkey Bars is NOW OPEN in New Zealand

Funky Monkey Bars has opened an outlet in New Zealand making its fantastic outdoor play and fitness equipment more accessible to Kiwi kids and reinvigorating classic outdoor fun in the land of the long white cloud.

With a New Zealand website www.funkymonkeybars.co.nz and a distribution outlet in Waikuku in the Canterbury region of the South Island, customers in New Zealand will be able to buy direct and have Funky Monkey Bars sent to their backyards from within New Zealand.

Jane & Marc Roberts, who opened the Kiwi outlet, are not new to Funky Monkey Bars as back in the beginning when a backyard monkey bar was only the dream of a little girl, Uncle Marc gave a big helping hand.

Nine years ago Christchurch born brothers, Shane and Marc Roberts, built a backyard monkey bar that was free-standing and all the kids loved it.  Shane and Uncle Marc had fulfilled a five-year-old daughter’s dream.

In 2011 Shane took an idea and created a start-up company, Funky Monkey Bars, in Perth Western Australia.   In the mean-time, Marc moved back to New Zealand and established his own building company. 

The popularity of Funky Monkey Bars grew and new frames and outdoor fun and fitness equipment were continually added, all with the aim of getting kids outdoors and away from the lure of the screen. 

Thousands of Funky Monkey Bar frames are now manufactured in Perth and are sold direct to backyards across Australia with an increasing demand for the product internationally.

Fast-forward to 2018 and the time is now right to introduce Funky Monkey Bars to New Zealand and make the outdoor play products readily available to Kiwi kids.

Kiwis can now buy direct the most popular Funky Monkey Bar frames; The Original, The Orangutan & The Gorilla with plans afoot to continue to add to the range available in New Zealand.
