Funky Monkey Bars has taken out a Rising Stars Award that celebrates and recognises the top 10 fast-growing private companies in Western Australia.
Directors Shane Roberts and Colin Burdle were ecstatic to receive the Rising Stars Award at the State Theatre Centre on Tuesday night and are encouraged by the support shown by Business News and Rising Stars corporate sponsors for innovative, local small business operators.
“Our kids inspire us and our customers reaffirm that we are onto something great every time another Funky Monkey Bar pops up in another backyard and they share photos with us of their jubilant kids - outside having fun and growing strong,” Shane said.
“Starting up a business from a good idea is not an easy path but this Rising Stars Award from the business community encourages us to go harder and do what we can to make our business stronger and our products available to more families world-wide.”
Funky Monkey Bars came onto the market in 2011 with backyard play equipment to get kids outdoors climbing and swinging and hanging with mates, away from the lure of screen-based activities.
Selling ‘Meccano’ style monkey bars and play equipment that is tough enough for big kids and adults too, Funky Monkey Bars is an online store that’s selling across Australia and more recently overseas with great interest from the United States.
